We Are Not Our Bodies . . . . .

We Are Not Our Bodies . . . . .

Our bodies, or as Darlyne used to say, “our earth suits,” are not who we are. If we were our bodies, then we certainly should fear “death,” because our bodies are aging and will certainly die, along with our ego. We won’t, however. We are infinite and eternal beings of light. We are free!

I find it frustrating that what we spend most of our time and energy on is the care of that which we are not. We feed it; we shelter it; we transport it; we exercise it. We visit the doctor and the dentist and the grocery store and that takes up an incredible amount of time and energy.  If it weren’t for our bodies, we wouldn’t need money. We would be free to explore the universe and travel at the speed of thought. (That’s a lot faster than the speed of light.) We could think about a distant galaxy and we’d just be there!

Our bodies are wonderful creations. With them, we get to explore our current reality. We get to experience our surroundings and interact with one-another. We get to have sex!  (I believe that what we call “sex” will pale in comparison to its equivalent during our in-between-lives experiences.) But still, sex is pretty wonderful, don’t you think? Anyway, I’m not complaining about our bodies, I’m just pointing out that we are not our bodies.

I’m pointing this out because I find, for me, that the less I think of my body as my self and think of God/Goddess as being my Self, the happier I am. I remind myself of things like, “I am God/Goddess being me,” or, “God created me by becoming me,” or, “I am what God is doing.” I do this ALL of the time. (Please don’t let the word “God” or “Goddess” bother you. It’s just a word – a very loaded one.)  Use whatever word you want. I’m not talking about the mean, angry, little “God” you or I may have been taught to believe in. As I’ve said before, in previous posts, I am not a religious person. I am, however, a very spiritual one. I do my best to live my life according to spiritual principles, the primary one being love. We should love one another and we should love ourselves! After all, love is all that matters!

I love my body. I hope you love your’s. And I hope you tell it so. Don’t ever say something like, “I have a bad back.” If you do, your back will hear you and act accordingly. I’m not kidding about this. It’s literally true. Every molecule of our body  has consciousness. We have a very powerful mind-body connection. The way we think about and talk to our bodies really does matter. Just say something like, “I have a wonderful back, and it’s in pain.” And then send it loving thoughts and energy and help it to heal.

We are not our bodies. We are spiritual beings, vast beyond our abilities to comprehend. We are The Universe expressing Itself as each one of us. We are God/Goddess becoming visible – right here, and right now. We are the being within and around  that which we see on the outside. We are that which animates our bodies, not the bodies themselves.

Love and Light . . . . .
