We Are Like Water . . . . .

We Are Like Water . . . . .

Water is pure. So are we. Yes, water gets mixed with contaminants and looks dirty and discolored, but the water molecule itself is pure. The water may look muddy, or may smell badly, but that’s not the water itself. The water is pure! If you mix water with mud or oil or even sewage and then leave it out in the sunlight, what happens? The water evaporates and leaves behind that which appeared to sully it. The water returns to its natural state, becomes a cloud and eventually returns in the form of rain. The rain is pure. We can collect it and drink it and nothing tastes sweeter. (I’m not talking about acid rain, of course!)Icy Branches

Likewise, we are like water. We rain down into our bodies. We arrive in the form of  helpless beautiful babies, pure and innocent. And then we begin to become contaminated. We are contaminated with erroneous beliefs, fears, superstitions. We are contaminated by our environment and by the often well-meaning, but misinformed people who teach us the same error-thoughts that they were taught by other often well-meaning people. And so, when we’re all grown up, and before that – really – we are fearful, angry, resentful, sad, mad and full of dread. We suffer from self-imposed limitations, because that is what we are taught, by people and institutions and our own childish misinterpretations.

Many of us come to believe that we are victims – helpless and weak, and then we blame others, or outside circumstances for our misfortune(s). We take on an  “They made me do it!” or an “It’s not my fault! You did it to me!” attitude. The truth of the matter is that we are powerful “beyond our wildest dreams!” As I wrote in an earlier post, we are made of god-stuff! We are what God IS doing. God created us by becoming us. We are Infinite and Eternal! We are FOREVER!   I believe that our main “job” in life is to REMEMBER THE TRUTH of our beings, and RECLAIM OUR POWER!  (“You shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you FREE!”) And then we can let go of our fears and superstitions and remember WHO WE ARE, at which point – and from that moment on we can live rich, full, abundant, joyful, wonder-full lives, like we were supposed to do all along.

And, of course, the day will come for each and every one of us when we will evaporate again, leaving the contamination behind and return to the truth of who we really are. I am not saying that our lives here on earth are filled with negativity, pain, and misery alone. We do experience that, but our lives here are full of wonder and beauty and joy and love, too. We create what we focus upon. We get what we give away. If we want love, we need to be loving, and give our love to others, etc. . .  Our lives here are amazing gifts. We chose to come here. We are in school here, learning what we came here to learn. But when it’s all said and done, as I’ve said so many times before in my blog, there’s no reason to fear “death.” It really doesn’t exist! It’s just an illusion. I mean, can you imagine a molecule of water fearing its own evaporation? That would be pretty silly, wouldn’t it?
